It began to work «the world’s first free online computer» – icloud
Online Services icloud, according to its creators, provides a «freedom of friends, files and digital life on any computer». Development of the project took eight years and ended with the official launch of a «Online PC».
Created icloud company Xcerion, established in 2001, uses popular recent paradigm «cloud computing», to give each user access to a specific set of resources. The set includes a place for storage, applications, virtual desktop and the backup feature. Use the service using any computer connected to the global network. Icloud services are available in several languages, including Russian.
The amount of disk space allocated to each user is equal to 3 GB. The list of free applications includes thirty items, including programs for working with office documents, email, audio and video, as well as games and tools for collaborative work. On the virtual desktop you can place up to 20 widgets. Service regularly creates a backup of all user data. Working with icloud does not require installing any software – all interaction is carried out through the Internet Explorer or Firefox.
P.S. Apparently, due to the influx of willing to try icloud, service for a long time adds to the base of new users, and slow to respond to queries.
