Samsung produces EcoGreen F2EG winchester with 1,5 TB volume
Novelty was named EcoGreen F2EG. It uses three-plate of 500 GB volume, so that the total amount of storage is 1.5 TB. According to the manufacturer, increasing density and reducing the number of plates has improved energy efficiency of EcoGreen F2 and enter new product in the category of «green» products.
Among the technologies that reduce energy consumption, heat and noise, Samsung refers to the development as EcoTriangle. Producer estimates that in idle mode F2EG consumes 40% less energy, as in reading and writing – at 45% less than comparable products of competitors. Winchester is designed to use in home media PCs, external storage, subscriber station and the personal network storage.
It is to produce drives Samsung EcoGreen F2EG volume of 500 GB, 1 TB and 1.5, equipped with 16 or 32 MB cache and 3 Gb/s SATA interface.
Has already begun deliveries of the new hard drive to major OEM-manufacturers of PCs. Recommended retail price level of 1.5 TB model is $ 149.
