The main feature of the new device can be considered the very high-speed recording single media – a DVD + R and DVD-R drive writes at speeds of 24x. In other words, to write the whole disk volume of 4,7 GB it takes just a few minutes.

The device will be equipped with SATA interface. It will use the Adaptive Self Tuning technology that increases the reliability of the recording. Maximum recording  speed is: DVD-R / + R SL – 24x, DVD-R DL and DVD-RAM – 12x, DVD + RW – 8x, DVD-RW – 6x, CD-R – 48x, CD-RW – 32x . 
Last month, Lite-On (the company that is competing with Sony Optiarc) presented similar devices.
